Discovering Dani W
Danielle W. Carter (Dani W) is an award-winning sultry singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. As heard on major TV networks like OWN TV, E! and Oxygen shows backing pivotal moments on "The Kardashians" , "The Bad Girls Club” and the new Oprah TV Show by Ava DuVernay "Cherish The Day." Dani W is known for her silky tone and lyrical word play championing Love, Family and Freedom. Being of mixed heritage, her mission is to build multi-cultural communities through her voice and messaging.
Dani is the honored first place winner of the International Songwriters Song Day contest for writing inspirational song "Living Legacy". The award celebrates the first day that the human voice was recorded, championing the global community of songwriters.
She was invited to New York to perform her original anthemic song "Legacy" for the President of Georgetown University and leaders of CEO of Fortune 500 Companies who came together to raise over a million dollars toward student education. After performing "Legacy", Dani was named "The toughest act to follow since delivering the benediction after a Stevie Wonder performance" by the Georgetown Jesuit Community at The Wall Street Alliance gala.
The anthem "Legacy" has since been aligned to power the mission of Junior League of Pasadena's five year mission to advance careers for women and entrepreneurs.
Dani has performed along side Wayne Brady and Judith Hill at a special charity benefit for foster children headlined and organized by recording artist Crystal Starr. She's also had the pleasure of serving as Vocal Director for a special showcase featuring Nashville's hit songwriter Jim McCormick and recording artists Greta Gaines and Breland.
Dani is a founding member of Dani W + Drew, a singer/songwriting duo who just premiered their first song "Tell Me How You Really Feel" on Oprah's OWN in a TV series called "Cherish The Day" Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, They See Us, 13th...). The new music video is out now on SoulTracks and the duo's site. Dani W + Drew were featured on locally on ABC during the SpringBoard Festival and recently released their first EP titled "The Ranch Sessions".
When not on stage, Dani works on new collections for her jewelry line ONYX xoxo empowering women to express their unique style and to own their voice. ONYX xoxo has expanded their services into wardrobe and styling for shoots, stage and films. This past year working on the award-wining short film titled Oyakodon. The film won Best Picture at Cannes Short Film Festival and premiered at the Mammoth Film Festival and in Los Angeles at The Regal LA Live.
Passionate about initiating partners between artists and small businesses, she has preciously served as Director of Artist Relations at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles and as Director of Artist Relations & Strategic Partnerships at Indie Jams LA, which was awarded "Best of Coachella."
